What Out of School tutors do, and what applicants should know.

Support learning with structure and care

  • Support children from Year 1 to Year 6.
  • Help with Maths, English, SATs, and 11+ preparation where suitable.
  • Assign or support structured homework.
  • Review student progress and identify learning gaps.
  • Provide friendly, patient, and reliable online support.
  • Communicate professionally with the Out of School team.
  • Follow safeguarding and privacy expectations.

What applicants should be ready for

  • Good knowledge of primary learning for Years 1 to 6.
  • Ability to support Maths and/or English.
  • SATs or 11+ experience is helpful but not compulsory.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable availability.
  • Comfortable using online learning tools.
  • Right to work in the UK where applicable.
  • DBS status or willingness to complete safeguarding checks if required.
  • References may be requested.
  • Agreement to safeguarding, privacy, and professional standards.
