About these Terms
These terms apply to parents and guardians purchasing Out of School services from Green Business Tools Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17467760), registered office 297 Green Lane, Redbridge, London IG3 9TL. Out of School is our trading name. We provide online Maths and English learning support for primary pupils in Years 1–6. Separate tutor terms and any confirmed assignment schedules apply to tutors; public-sector contracts have their own terms.
By creating an account, starting a 7 day free trial, or taking out a subscription, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Service Description
What Out of School provides
Platform Access provides structured Maths and English practice, instant answer correction and parent progress tracking. Progress Plus adds two parent progress meetings each month. Standard and SEND one-to-one tuition are separate one-hour lesson purchases, subject to tutor availability and approval. SEND support is agreed following an individual suitability discussion; it does not include diagnostic assessments or clinical therapy. A feature described as planned or coming soon is not included until we confirm it is available.
Curriculum alignment
Our core Maths and English learning materials support the National Curriculum for England at Key Stages 1 and 2 (Years 1–6). Exam preparation includes relevant SATs, phonics, multiplication tables and 11+ practice. Individual 11+ requirements vary by school and examination provider. We do not promise alignment with the separate curricula of Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland or other countries.
7 day free trial
New users may access seven days of platform access as a free trial. No payment details are required to begin the trial. Continued access after the free period requires a paid subscription.
Service availability
We aim to provide continuous access to the platform but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary interruption. We will endeavour to notify users of planned downtime in advance.
Subscription & Payment Terms
Subscription plans
Platform Access is £30 per month and Progress Plus is £45 per month. The checkout shows the total price and renewal terms before payment. Current pricing is displayed on our Pricing page and is subject to change with reasonable notice. Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis unless cancelled.
Billing
Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance. Payment is processed securely through our payment provider. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring monthly basis.
One-to-one tuition
Standard one-to-one tuition is £30 per one-hour session and SEND one-to-one tuition is £40 per one-hour session. These are separate purchases and are not included in a monthly platform subscription. Sessions must be paid for in advance. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time if you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson. With less than 48 hours’ notice, parent self-service cancellation is unavailable. You may ask the tutor to move the lesson; only the tutor may approve and arrange that late change, by agreement with you and subject to availability, without a new lesson charge. If no late change is agreed and the lesson remains available as booked, the fee is normally retained. Any retained cancellation charge must be fair and lawful in the circumstances. If a tutor cancels, contact us to arrange a suitable replacement at no extra charge. You do not have to accept an unsuitable replacement. This rescheduling policy does not remove statutory cancellation rights or refunds and other remedies required by law where the agreed service is not provided. No administration fee is set by these terms.
Price changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. You will be given at least 30 days’ written notice of any price increase. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and retry the charge. Access to the platform may be suspended if a payment remains outstanding for more than 7 days.
Cancellation Policy
Cancelling your subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel, please contact us by email at parents@out-of-school.net or through the contact form on our website. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to the platform until that date.
Refunds
Outside any statutory cancellation right, cancelling a monthly subscription normally stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current period. This does not limit your rights if a service is not supplied, is misdescribed or is not provided with reasonable care and skill. Please contact us promptly about an incorrect charge; no reporting deadline in these terms removes your statutory rights.
Right to cancel (cooling-off period)
You normally have 14 days from entering a distance contract to cancel it without giving a reason. A free trial does not replace or automatically waive this right. Tell us clearly by email or contact form that you wish to cancel; include your name, account email and the purchase concerned. Where you expressly request a service to start during the cancellation period, a proportionate charge for services supplied before cancellation may apply only where the law permits and the required information has been given. The right to cancel digital content is lost only where supply starts after your prior express consent and acknowledgement that you will lose that right, with the required contract confirmation. Merely accessing the platform does not establish those conditions. Service cancellation rights are not automatically lost when performance begins. Where a statutory refund is due we will make it within the applicable legal deadline, normally within 14 days of being informed of cancellation, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed and without a refund fee.
Cancellation by Out of School
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, engage in abusive or inappropriate behaviour, or if we are required to do so by law. In such cases we will provide written notice where reasonably practicable.
Parent & Guardian Responsibilities
Account registration
Accounts must be created by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide during registration is accurate and kept up to date. You must not create an account on behalf of another person without their knowledge.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Appropriate use
The platform is intended for the personal, non-commercial use of a single child per student account. You must not share student login credentials with others outside your household or use the platform to provide services to third parties without our written consent.
Supervision
While our platform is designed for independent learning, we recommend that parents and guardians remain appropriately involved in their child’s online activity and homework routine.
Lesson evidence and recording permission
Tutors provide a screenshot of the duration display after the lesson call ends; a lesson recording upload is not required. Recording a lesson requires your prior written permission and Out of School approval, with the purpose, storage, access and deletion arrangements explained before recording begins. Recording permission is separate from accepting these service terms. Approved recordings are held securely by the tutor as lesson evidence and deleted within 30 days of the lesson. Any exceptional need to preserve evidence for an active complaint, safeguarding matter or legal obligation must be referred to the Admin Team for a documented lawful retention decision and review date. Tutors must not make undisclosed recordings or share recordings for publicity. Safeguarding concerns should be raised with the Out of School Admin Team at parents@out-of-school.net.

Educational outcomes
Out of School provides structured homework and progress-tracking tools to support learning. We do not guarantee specific academic results, grades, or exam outcomes. Progress depends on individual engagement, consistency, and other factors outside our control.
Our responsibility
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not impose a subscription-fee cap on those rights.
Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights or alter an existing paid lesson booking without agreement. If a change materially disadvantages you, you may cancel before it takes effect; any refund required by law remains available. Where affirmative agreement is required, we will obtain it rather than rely only on continued use.
